Our research plans are priced to be accessible to individual travellers and institutions alike. No commission, no sponsored content — just the information your trip deserves.

Subscription Plans

Three Plans, All Editorially Independent

Every plan gives access to the same independently verified content — the difference lies in the depth of direct researcher access and the number of custom enquiries included per month. All plans are billed monthly in Egyptian Pounds with no minimum commitment.

The Essential plan suits travellers who need clear, reliable site information and practical logistics for a planned trip. The Standard plan is appropriate for those who want cruise comparisons and direct team enquiries answered within three business days. The Scholar plan serves researchers, documentary teams, and institutions requiring priority access and unlimited direct research support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions our prospective subscribers ask most often. If your question is not here, send it directly to our team.

For a single Egypt trip lasting one to three weeks, the Standard plan is the most practical choice. It gives you full access to all 130+ site assessments, the Nile cruise comparison database covering 42 vessels, heritage tour operator evaluations for 34 operators, and allows five direct enquiries to our research team — answered within three working days. Most travellers find that combination more than sufficient for comprehensive pre-trip research. The Essential plan works if you only need site-specific information and are not planning a cruise. The Scholar plan is rarely necessary for a personal holiday unless your visit has a professional or academic dimension.
Yes. All plans operate on a month-to-month basis with no minimum commitment period. You can cancel at any point before your next billing date by contacting our team at [email protected] or by using the cancellation option in your subscriber account. You retain full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. There are no cancellation fees, no notice periods, and no automatic plan upgrades without your explicit authorisation.
All plan prices are listed and billed in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). Our business is registered and operates in Egypt, and we bill in the local currency accordingly. If you are paying from outside Egypt, your bank or card provider will convert from your home currency to EGP at its prevailing exchange rate. At current rates, EGP 590 per month is approximately EUR 11 or USD 12, though this varies with the exchange rate. We do not add conversion fees beyond what your payment provider applies.
A research enquiry is a specific question submitted to our team via the contact form or by email, covering a topic not fully addressed in our published guides. Examples of past enquiries include: the current status of a specific tomb in the Valley of the Kings (KV14, the tomb of Tawosret, was the subject of a recent enquiry regarding its reopening after conservation work); the most reliable transport route from Luxor to the Abydos temple complex; accessibility provisions for a wheelchair user at the Karnak hypostyle hall; and photography permit requirements for a commercial documentary production. Each enquiry is assigned to the researcher with most relevant expertise, who provides a written response within the timeframe specified by your plan. Enquiries become part of our internal knowledge base, which helps us identify where our published guides need expanding.
High-traffic sites — primarily the Giza plateau (including the Great Pyramid, Solar Boat Museum, and Sphinx enclosure), the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, the Valley of the Kings, and Karnak Temple — receive monthly operational updates. These updates cover any changes to ticketing arrangements, access restrictions due to conservation work, photography policy changes, and opening hour modifications. All other documented sites receive a complete review at minimum once per year during the quieter season. Every page on our site carries a clear last-updated date so you can immediately assess how recent the information is. When a change occurs between scheduled reviews — for instance, a new entrance fee announced by the Ministry of Antiquities — we update the relevant pages within five working days of learning about the change.
We offer a seven-day free access period on the Essential plan. During this period you have full access to all Essential-tier content — the complete 130+ site assessment archive, practical logistics guides, and museum entry fee data. No payment method is required to begin the trial. At the end of the seven days, if you choose to continue, you can provide payment details to activate a paid monthly subscription. If you do nothing, access closes at the end of the trial period. The trial is available once per email address. For the Standard and Scholar plans, we do not offer a trial period but are happy to answer specific questions about what the plan covers before you commit — contact us at [email protected].
